L’Atelier Nicolao, attivo dal 1980 sulla scena internazionale del cinema, teatro e spettacoli di opera, possiede un repertorio di oltre 15,000 costumi cine-teatrali realizzati con tessuti e lavorazioni di pregio per importanti produzioni cinematografiche e lirico-teatrali, completati dai relativi accessori.
Negli anni la collezione è diventata sempre più di pregio e varia, tanto che siamo in grado di fornire costumi per tutti gli eventi e tipi di attività, dalle rievocazioni storiche, agli eventi di gala, dalle feste in costume a serate eleganti e di cerimonia, sino a costumi per artisti o personale dell’evento.

Nicolao Atelier, active since 1980 on the international cinema, theater and opera scene, has a repertoire of over 15,000 cine-theatrical costumes made with fine fabrics and workmanship for major film and
theatrical productions, complete with the relevant accessories.
Over the years, the collection has become increasingly valuable and varied, so much so that we are able to provide costumes for all events and types of activities, from historical re-enactments to gala events, from costume parties to elegant evenings and ceremonies, and even costumes for artists or event staff.

About us
Nicolao Atelier is an artisan company that has been producing historical costumes and dresses since 1980, with a focus on the history of Venetian costume, and is active on the international scene of cinema-theater and opera performances.
It has a repertoire of over 15,000 cine-theatrical costumes made with fabrics and fine workmanship for major film and opera productions, complete with accessories.
Nicolao Atelier has worked for the most important opera, theater and film productions all over the world: from the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Washington, to the New National thetre of Tokyo, passing through Bilbao, Lisbon, Nice, Lausanne, La Fenice, La Scala and the major Italian and European theaters.

Stefano Nicolao was born in Venice on March 25, 1954. First actor in 1972 then, since 1975, he is tailoring director at Teatro Stabile Friuli Venezia Giulia in Trieste.
The first professional in the city of Venice, he worked as a costume designer, and in 1980 he founded the film-theater costume tailoring "Nicolao Atelier" with the aim of engaging in the philological study of materials while maintaining the primary craftsmanship for accessories. Stefano teaches Fashion Design - Historical Cut, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice since 2008.
